I have been working with TurboCash for over 10 years now and have put my clients onto it when they start a new business.

One of my clients who was on TC4 had a crash on 30 December which was repaired by Os Solutions. After working a few days, another error popped up, at which point, I was advised to install TC5. After installing TC5, it didn't work, so I was advised to upgrade the Firebird to 2.5. After which it worked, but suddenly the year-end had changed from February to November and this was only noticed when it came time to start preparing for the actual year end and after a 2nd crash which happened a week before year-end.

I now have books that don't print in the correct periods and I have been advised by Os Solutions to do the audit on this totally meaningless set of books and to setup a new set of books for the next year.

Is there any way that I can repair or recover the information already posted into a set with the correct years?

Please help, I'm desperate.

Thank you

Grace

Grace - Who has been helping you with this. Whoever has been making these changes must fix it. Are you paying them?

Hi Grace,

Not sure why this advice was given, but it wouldn't be mine.
If you want you can contact me, and we'll try to get your set of books working again.

Hi Grace, What problem caused the failure in the first place. What procedure did you follow to restore the info on turbocash. Did you do a backup before the problem?

Philip - Sylvain from Os Solutions in Jhb help us and we had to pay them before they'd release the 'fixed' set of books to us and he said that once even 1 entry had been posted, we can't fix the reporting dates. That the best solution would be to start the new financial year with a new set of books.

Willie - Hi, I'm not too sure what caused the problem initially, but there was some heavy lightening during the late afternoon on both crashes which were only discovered the next morning so I can only think that it was caused by power spikes. And no, they hadn't done backups for a while before. I now have them using a UPS and doing daily backups.

Thank you very much, everyone, the set of books is now working properly and it is, once again, a pleasure to work with. They are now doing backups daily and have a UPS to prevent power spikes and unexpected shutdowns due to power outages.

Dome, thank you very much for your assistance. It would never have been repaired without you. I am most grateful to you. Thank you, again.
