Hi group,

I'm a virgin to this accounting stuff, I hate numbers but I'm growing into a more serious company, I've been advised to check our TurboCash.

I usually use Excel haphazardly and get things wrong, any suggestions and advice is greatly welcomed!

Many thanks,

Hi Folks

Have done all my accounts on Excel for years now. Having spent a fortune on sage and quick books in the past. Intend to play with the product for a property portfolio.

Hi Andrew, I have been using Turbocash since 2013, and it is very very powerful, I'd go as far as to say more powerful than the two comemrcial packages you mentioned. And, of course, the beauty is it's open source. As a Licensed Practising Accountant I'd only say it probably is a bit difficult for the layperson, unless you have some Accounts training under your belt. Excel is good too, but Turbocash has that ''click of a button'' reporting functionality which, at audit or tax return time, is really something of a boon. I have gone through countless audits and tax returns, some with Chartered Accountants here in UK, and Turbocash has always (and I think always will) delivered the goods.. I haven't unlocked the full power of Turbocash, but with the modules I use, it's more than enough for the work I am doing each day....
